Life must pass whether we see it or not. It doesn’t care about you or me and at a times its brutal. Living in such a reality, living a half-sleepy and half-wake life only brings misery. An Australian nurse who spent above a decade in palliative care, care for the terminally ill and their families, learns that people had a lot to share about their life if there is a listening ear. She documented their regrets on their final days spending on hospital beds. She is Bronnie Ware well-known after her treasured book "Top Five Regrets of Dying". When she nursed the dying people and talked to them, she had interesting discussions about their lives and regrets, she said "common themes surfaced again and again". Let's see what Bronnie wants us to realize before it is too late to catch up on. The following are the top five regrets expressed by the dying people on their deathbeds waiting for their final takeoff.

The top 5 regrets:

1. I wish I’d had the courage to live a life true to myself, not the life others expected of me.
2. I wish I hadn’t worked so hard.
3. I wish I’d had the courage to express my feelings.
4. I wish I had stayed in touch with my friends.
5. I wish that I had let myself be happier.

As many people had disappeared already telling what they should have done instead of what they did already in their lives, it’s important message for us to learn from them and to live a life of no-regrets. I read somewhere that it is the wise who learns the mistakes from others and live by them instead of committing the same mistakes again. Which one you choose? Honestly, I choose the first one because I don't want to feel miserable falling short of happiness in my life on a deathbed and we have only one life to live. What about you?

Why Couldn't You Catch the Happiness Butterfly Yet? Read Here the Reasons!

Happiness is what every living soul including humans search for and work for. But it appears to be that that butterfly is always on the move, further and further away like an enticing mirage. A lot of people had already searched and grabbed the secrets of the moving butterfly. These million dollar life changing solutions can be inherited by just learning the outcomes of the Hedonic Treadmill Research findings. Then why wait? Jump right in.

As long as our perspective about life is not changing we will not be more happier. In our house, If our window glass gets dirty we would normally clean it with a piece of cloth so that we could see clearly the street outside. Same way, with an unreal beliefs of dirt lying in our mind whatever we think or do will get us to suffering. All we need to do is put effort to substitute our negative and unrealistic perceptions about the world with more realistic ones. The piece of cloth here is the much needed wisdom. Some psychologists say that our happiness levels stay a constant level even though we have got million dollars in bank or went bankrupt.

They researched on happiness by consulting people who got a lottery and those who lost someone dear to them in an accident. The results in Hedonic relativism and planning the good society (1971) and Lottery Winners and Accident Victims: Is Happiness Relative? (1978) show that the group which received lot of money were happy for sometime only, later their happiness levels came back to their initial average (i.e. went down to their original state of happiness). And the other group who were paralyzed in an accident were mourning for a while then again their happiness levels too came back to their original state (i.e. raise up to their original state). This phenomenon termed as "Hedonic Treadmill or Adaptation" initially theorized by Brickman and Campbell. This theory simply states that our happiness levels are at a constant level and independent on having lot of monitory gain or after some tragic accident. It fluctuates for a while but finally it comes to the individual's original happiness set level. This original happiness levels despite having a set point can be increased by changing our views on the life explained the research. A tip we could all use to be more happier than before.

In conclusion, happiness can be achieved in this life time itself by changing our attitude towards life more realistically. To achieve this right knowledge is needed as found in positive psychology research. So, be in stable mental state even though you were hit with a major blow by life or rewarded by it. Be stable minded and be happy, not just for today but forever.

But not the Life."

Are you a Gifted Adult? If yes, this is the way to Survive !!

all rights reserved @pixabay.com and/or @original contributor
Lets begin, do you feel different and lonely even though living in the society? Are you very intense, complex and driven by nature? Are you highly empathetic about worldly problems? If the answer to these questions is a "YES", then you might be a gifted person and need further knowledge about it to live better and no regrets in your life. So, what is gifted really means? Is it mean highly talented and can earn a lot of money than others or having super natural powers? Sorry, not really. But, Gifted people have intelligence that is highly developed in one or more areas of interest but highly underdeveloped in one or many areas in brain.

"Gifted people will have Asynchronous brain development"

Asynchronous development:
It means, uneven development of various skills or talents in the brain. For example, one might be highly creative (drawing artist or a writer) but have very low communication skills. Or, one might be philosophically intelligent but under developed in other areas or skills. So, looks like you got my point here! Lets see this in one example to clearly understand it, lets imagine a mountain and a valley sitting side by side. In here, Mountain is highly elevated from the ground while the valley is deeply dropped in to the ground level. Lets say the ground level is the 'normal', then the mountain and valley area has asynchronous development in respect to the plain land. In such a similar way, one area of brain [or a skill(s)] is over developed like a mountain and other area of brain [or a skill(s)] is under developed like a valley. Please read and check with these characters from Dr. Patricia Turners interesting webpage (1).

What problems one might encounter:
They feel different, alienated, frustrated with mundane things which doesn't have a meaning and value. Might face problems finding friends and partners because gifted people make about top 2-5% of populations. So it makes sense that you need to meet at least 50 people to meet a little similarity in feelings and behavior. Unfortunately, even if you found a gifted person you both still need a common ground for starting a friendship and a romantic relationship.

Possible solution:
Based on my knowledge and readings about gifted people, I encourage gifted people to talk to as many as people to find a good match for a friendship and a romantic relationship. It can be achieved by being very liberal to nationality, religion, age, race and education in search of similar minds. Also, it is vital and very important that both gifted partners should know about their gifted nature otherwise, there might be strong clashes as both are intense in their feelings and sensitivity, their is a high chance that both hurt each other. Realizing about their giftedness is the primary step in having a meaningful and healthy relations among gifted people.

So, if you found out to be a gifted person by checking with a licenced psychologist or gaining enough knowledge about your giftedness by extensive reading books or web pages, then first step is to accept your giftedness and yourself, as the way you are. Then be patient in finding friends and partners, once you found someone, realize that gifted people have intense feelings, its best that both realized about their giftedness and gained enough knowledge to lead the life happily.
